In this paper, we describe the outline of the architecture design of cyber physical system (hereafter “CPS”), a
platform that supports the super smart city of Society 5.0. This is an information platform for supporting the
management of an area within a city through public-private partnership. The base platform consists of a set of
three data components: [physical things] three-dimensional urban space, [human beings] human flow and behavior,
and [social and economic things] socio-economic activity. Thus, it is possible to construct the CPS cycle of human
flow, from human flow and behavior sensing, data storage, data analysis and modeling using AI, simulation,
prediction, service system construction, execution and management. This would enable area management of the
super smart city. In a study conducted in 2017, the background of the platform construction, concept of research,
research organization, and outline of the research plan for the Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 Area were described. As
a follow-up to the study, this paper summarizes the status of research and development, mainly as an overview of
the architectural design of the platform.
