During the world crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic, every sector receives the extreme impact, including
construction. The safety measure has become the major role for many industries to perform their duties. Everyone then has to adjust and adopt this new normal way. Construction is used to be a gathering of task work, but now new normal way will have to separate them into phasing and try to avoid the worker’s contact as much as possible. In bamboo construction, it may be time to think of new innovative way to do phasing of construction. This study introduces the prefabrication of bamboo frames bringing them to do construction in parallel and in remote area, so working teams will be less contacted. Construction time is also simulated to confirm that the expediting is working. Construction schedule will be investigated to analyze if the construction time is efficient. Moreover, prefabricated frames are experimented to have variation of designs and assembling into different kinds of architecture. This
finding shows that prefabricated system can assist the construction management of bamboo architecture by expediting the construction time by 27%; in addition construction phasing can also avoid the worker’s contact. Less human contact can also minimize opportunity to be infected. Prefabricated frames can also create many interesting forms of bamboo architecture. Hopefully, this new normal construction method can be adopted into future way of how we perform construction, so construction industry is able to be quickly coped with the pandemic situation.
