Aims and Scope

The Journal of Asian Urban Environment is an international scholarly journal dedicated to research on urban and built environments in Asia. The journal provides a platform for original research, review articles, case studies, and conference-recommended manuscripts that address urban development, sustainability, environmental improvement, architectural design, building science, and related interdisciplinary issues.

The journal aims to advance academic understanding of the environmental, spatial, social, technological, and policy-related challenges facing Asian cities. It welcomes studies that provide rigorous methods, reliable evidence, and practical or theoretical insights for improving urban and built environments.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

- sustainable urban development and city planning;
- urban and regional planning, development, and management;
- architectural design, urban design, and landscape design;
- urban infrastructure, accessibility, and public space;
- building physics, building technology, and environmental performance;
- energy consumption, energy efficiency, and low-carbon urban development;
- climate change, ecological planning, and urban environmental improvement;
- water environment and environmental management;
- planning and design for risk reduction and natural hazards;
- sustainable public transport and urban mobility;
- heritage conservation, cultural development, and urban regeneration;
- public health, social equity, and inclusiveness in urban development;
- technological innovation in urban and architectural settings;
- architecture and urban design education;
- other topics related to architectural design, urban development, and the Asian environment.

Submissions should be relevant to the journal’s academic scope and should present clear research questions, appropriate methodology, sound evidence, and original academic contribution.

 

Open Access Policy

The Journal of Asian Urban Environment provides immediate open access to its published content. All articles are freely available online without subscription, registration, or access charges.

Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to the full texts of the articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose in accordance with the journal’s copyright and licensing policy.

The journal supports the principle that open access promotes the wider dissemination and exchange of academic knowledge.
