In this study, we suggested the “distributed independent energy supply system” in the central district of Nagoya City, where commercial buildings and residences are being constructed in advance of the opening of the Linear Chuo Shinkansen Line in 2027. We evaluated the environmental load reduction effect, and we examined the concept of a new energy network infrastructure, called the “new urban common-use tunnel.” The results of our calculations confirmed that energy use, the environmental load reduction effect, and the ratio of power supplied from the autonomous power supply are high. To address overcrowding in the advanced infrastructure due to the intensive use of land in urban areas, we introduced the new urban common-use tunnel, which connects existing district heating and cooling plants and accommodates the (pipe)lines of separate power transmission/distribution cables, heat supplies, and communication networks.
