Abstract

The syntactic analysis of buildings with varies physical inclusions has contribute a logical approach to those subjective elements that hardly been identified in Architectural design languages. It is also an organizational relationship, such as life and behavior that space offers, for dweller's activity patterns in both social and cultural context, revealing a topological spatial relation for the contiguity of space roaming process that transited between trace of interconnected functional units. This paper aims to propose a refined graphical method that identifies the configuration complex of introverted traditional Chinese space types, illustrates the whole structural order of one selected root to reach those subordinate space enclosures in relational distance controls. Based on typological depth analysis, an improved justified graph model was proposed to adapt the spatial relationship patterns of such multiple enclosure significance. A case study on Yang Xin Dian palace complex was carried out to examine the contiguity of traditional space types arising from being in relationship. The effects of the changings on categorization of dweller's activity patterns, residential behaviors and building types were taken into account. The result suggested a cascaded spatial transition hierarchy for the sorts of traditional palace space configurations been comprises.
