Abstract

Currently, an increase in historic buildings as the modernization-related assets is expected all over the world. Therefore, it is necessary to preserve and use them effectively as good building stocks. In terms of the theater buildings, unspecified people are assembled in the one theater space. Therefore, it is necessary to establish the disaster prevention plan considering spatial characteristics. “LUNA Hall” is one of the modern historic theater buildings in Japan and designed by Junzo Sakakura who was a famous architect in 1970. It is the first “adaptable theatre” in Japan. However, forty five years had passed after this building was completed. And then it needs to be repaired and updated. To keep using it preserving the value of the buildings, it is necessary to achieve the evacuation safety and be possible to correspond enough for conversion in the future. Therefore, we examined a disaster prevention plan to enhance the utilization possibility in this paper. The determination of evacuation safety is analyzed to compare the escape time to the time limit of evacuation. The determination method of the escape time is citation from the Japanese law” validation method for evacuation safety “. And then, the determination of the time limit of evacuation is calculated by the system which analyzes smoke flow in a building based on the zone model. From the verification result, we suggested that it is possible to achieve the evacuation safety planning by existing facilities effectively and various conversions.
