Residential environment quality is one of the basic elements for quality of life, as well as the main support for activities of economy, culture and society. This paper focuses the research on investigating the present people's living environment in Japan. In this paper, Moji district of Kitakyushu City, Japan are selected, which is has the highest population and highest density of residential housing in Kitakyushu Area. The questionnaires have been carried out to more than 3000 peoples between November-January 2012. Firstly, the questionnaire surveys focusing on occupant's housing characteristic and family condition. Then through the analysis, residential environment are evaluated. This research also can identify the convenience level of the peoples on the use of transportation modes and public facilities in their living area (urban and rural). The results of this research are not only giving direction to the development and improvement of residential environment of Japanese cities but also can contribute to the urban planning design for developing new cities. The research has continuously study in order to change the Asian people life-style moving toward the low carbon and low energy consumption. The research also will have further study to develop the future energy system model in order to sustaining Asian Countries.
