The evaporative cooling air-conditioning technology in public buildings in hot and dry areas of China’s plateau has
been widely used in nowadays. However, compared with mechanical refrigeration systems, the cooling effect in
evaporative cooling buildings is attenuated sharply in the direction of supply air, and the indoor thermal environment
has obvious differences. This paper takes the public building of hotels in northern Xinjiang region of China as the
research object, uses CFD simulation software to optimize the design parameters of the “benchmark model”, and obtains
the best application of evaporative cooling air-conditioning technology’s morphological design parameter set for public
buildings in summer of this area: with a standard “one” shape in the north to south orientation, because of the solar
radiation received by the north and south is different, the south room is 5.7m ~6mdeep and the north room is 5.7m ~
6.3m deep (the opening and the net height remain unchanged from the original standard design size), the overall average
temperature of the room can reach 24°C ~25°C, and the horizontal and vertical temperature difference within 1°C, the
overall average relative humidity can reach 40% ~50%, to meet the human body thermal comfort needs.
