Calculating and comparing the energy consumption of air conditioning, we use simulation software called "THERB" and investigate the current condition of energy conservation performance of detached house, apartment house, and town house. As a result, we find town houses have high thermal insulation efficiency, and their energy consumption of heating is less than other type of house. Also, we introduce "single air conditioning" and "night ventilation" for the HVAC system which utilizes the characteristics of a town house. "Single air conditioning" improves coefficient of air conditioner performance, and "night ventilation" reduces summer night energy consumption of air conditioning. Based on simulation software called "WIND PERFECT DX", through analysis of indoor thermal environment and verification of energy conservation effects, we propose two new high performance energy saving models of town house. We name them "skip floor model" and "corkscrew stairs model". Their energy consumption of air conditioning are over 25% less than popular town house.
