Abstract

We investigated the actual situation of energy consumption of the office building after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. In this study, we aimed to clarify the adoption of the energy-saving measures and reduction of energy consumption rate in the office building. We investigated by a questionnaire method. The main contents of this investigation were "energy consumption from April 2010 to September 2011 " and "the adoption of energy-saving measures". We collected the 593 answer documents from the office buildings. As a result, energy consumption rate in 2011 was lower than in 2010 in all areas. In particular, energy consumption rate of many office buildings in Tohoku and Kanto areas were reduced from15 to25 percent. And it showed that effective measures for energy consumption were done in office buildings in Tohoku and Kanto areas. We found that the implementation of the energy-saving measures have affected the reduction of energy consumption rate.
