The introduction of district heating and cooling (DHC) is effective as an area energy utilization method in urban areas. Since past studies have revealed that coefficient of performance (COP) at DHC varies greatly depending on equipment degradation and operation methods, renewal of equipment and improvement of operation methods are required to improve COP. This research focuses on the operation methods of the equipment in the area A DHC in Tokyo, where the COP is maintained higher than the average value, and proposes COP improvement factors. The research method is to analyze the operation methods of the equipment using the daily report data of the area A DHC and the area B DHC, which has a system configuration similar to the area A DHC, and propose COP improvement factors and use the simulation software ENEPRO21. As a result of the research, it was found that the refrigeration unit operation considering the load factor and temperature difference between supply and return cold water and transport power contributed to the improvement of COP in the area A DHC.
