Abstract

South-east Asian Countries are experiencing remarkable economic growth in recent years. So there is a high possibility that energy consumption in residential buildings will increase rapidly in the near future, because of the rising standard living, led by economic growth. Therefore prompt methods to mitigate energy consumption in residential buildings relation to economic development are required.
In this research, field studies to investigate the prospected residential type in urban areas of Cambodia as well as to clarify obstacles in installing energy efficient technologies were first conducted. Next, future energy consumption in corresponding residential type was calculated and the effect of installing energy efficient technologies were compared and analyzed. Finally, from the results of the simulation and the field studies, the order of installation of each energy effici technology was decided and a proposal for phased renovation was made.
