Loess Plateau is located in the midwest of China, Accounting for 1/l8 of Chinese territory. The research object is current vernacular dwellings in gully region of Loess Plateau, it selects three typical vernacular dwellings: Adobe dwelling, one-story brick-concrete structure dwelling, and two-story brick-concrete structure dwelling. Using LCAmethod in full lifecycle energy consumption, it will provide more accurate and scientific energy consumption for architecture in the full life cycle. In this paper, vernacular dwellings are regarded as products, through the field investigation and calculation of different vernacular dwelling in gully region, five processes were fixed by LCA, and they are material manufacturing, building erecting, building use, demolition and waste disposal. Using these five steps to establish energy consumption model and add the energy consumption in each steps together, thus get the total energy consumption for dwellings in the full life cycle. Finally, the comparative analyses should be done for the data in different process of vernacular dwellings construction and used as a basis for the future ecological design of vernacular dwellings.
