The phenomenon of urban heat island effect is one of the most representative environmental problems in the process of rapid urbanization. Urban squares with vegetation, which are an essential part of cities, can alleviate the tighter space in urban area as the main body and reduce the urban heat island effect. This paper will start with the relationship between the space form of the block and the microclimate of the square, based on relevant theories at home and abroad, select typical city squares to collect the heat and wind environmental data and the information of the block space form, try to explore the relationship between the physical environment of the square and the height, density of surrounding buildings, composition of the underlying surface of the square. With the theme of building a comfortable residential environment, this study will explore the factors that affect the physical environment of squares, in hope of offering a reference for the design and construction of city squares.
