With the development of large-scale and modernization of Qingdao's city ports, the function of small-scale wharfs which had been developed by water is gradually weakened and faced with being eliminated or abandoned. The port culture and the port buildings, which bear a lot of historical memories, have gradually received wide attention from the society. Taking Qingdao Fisherman's wharf as the object of study, this paper makes a survey and statistics on its user population, usage status and status quo, and uses SPSS to analyze the main correlation factors affecting the "usage validity" of urban waterfront wharf space. Taking the correlation factor as the questionnaire content, the preliminary evaluation of Qingdao Fisherman's wharf (former rice cliff fishing port) was carried out by using the questionnaire survey method, and the evaluation results were analyzed and verified by using the environmental behavioral theory. Finally, from the visibility, communication, hydrophilicity three aspects to promote the urban waterfront space "use validity" suggestions.
