The lighting design should not only focus on the quantitative indicators, but also consider the behavior and psychological needs of people. The mature theory of environmental psychology can make up the limitation of the past lighting design. Besides, the light environment in the library reading room is different from other interior light environments; it has higher requirements to the light. Taking the university library reading room as an example, this article makes an improvement on the light environment of existing reading room on the basis of environmental psychology from the perspective of subjective and objective, to build a light environment meeting people’s behavior and psychological needs.
