This thesis mainly studies the current situation of water pollution in Songhua River Basin, anthropogenic influences of pollutants, legislation and countermeasures of protection. In the middle reaches of Songhua River, the daily discharge volume of industrial wastewater and domestic sewage has reached ten thousand tons. Various toxic substances discharged into the Songhua River have more than hundreds of kinds, including nitrates and phosphates, bacteria, heavy metals and other organic pollutants. Prevention must start from the source. The entire process of governance and the implementation of cleaner production should appear in each process. Municipal sewage treatment plant construction is a significant mean to solve urban water problem.
