This paper describes the methods of the design and control system of supermarket shopping robot. The architecture of this control system is two-tiered. The core of the first tier is ARM cortex-A7 with Linux system, which is responsible for image acquisition and processing, using image matching algorithms to complete the current object recognition after receipting the applications for recognition from the second tier. The second tier is STM32, which is in charge of control of underlying driver and implementation of human-computer interaction. A supermarket shopping robot prototype is designed on the basis of the methods, then the experimental verification .The experimental results indicate that the robot can get goods in the shopping list and replenish the goods well.
