Cikapundung river has a huge role in daily activities of Bandung inhabitant which has prominent life support values that must be preserved and protected from sustaining its function, determining areas borders within local municipal laws, to strengthening existing laws and policies regarding protecting Cikapundung River. Cikapundung plays an active role in providing public open space to accommodate numerous activities, and also its extremely important ecology function. Preservation actions to improve its function are primarily needed to instill its main purpose as public space and this is vital to provide a comfortable living to its community. it will need an effective approach like Water Sensitive Urban Design to solve several issues that arose. WSUD is one of the green infrastructure approaches, where the main objective is to implement water-environmental management-interrelated urban design and planning concepts to minimize the impact of water existence on city surfaces by providing greener open space to accommodate better and healthier living. This research is aiming to find out concept directions on realizing greener open space that may rejuvenate areas that all this while deemed to be dump/slump which could accommodate the needs of well-planned community activities, along with preserving its existing water bodies function of ecology.
