Nowadays, noise complaints remain a high rank in all kinds complaints of city environment, although relevant noise control regulations have been issued. And many cases show that the A-weighted Sound Pressure Level (SPL) cannot accurately reflect the subjective noise perception of people. Under the given circumstance, researches on noise problems have been carried out in physiological and psychological effects of people. In this paper, the research methods are summarized and analyzed, by which the influence of noise in typical residential areas in Tianjin is evaluated. Based on the analysis of noise characteristic data and residents' subjective satisfaction, this paper reveals the reason why residents' subjective satisfaction is low in residential area while the acoustic environment data is up to standard.
